Never Been A Big Fan Of Holidays…

that aren’t Halloween.

Especially when the holiday manages to take out the one day of the week that I had set aside to accomplish the biggest chore I have on deck. So its another week of living in a sty… sigh.

At least I have a hundred thousand other things that need doin… like reading screenplays, transcribing short stories, getting more pics outta the camera and generally getting the next three months set up.

Plus I’m listening to She & Him Volume One right now… and that’s got me in quite the mellow groove. Which is backed up by the comfort of knowing the new coffee maker will spit out a half quart of black gold tomorrow morning right before I get up. Oh sure, its not going to be as high quality as the French press action I have been getting lately.. .but it will be 1000 times easier.

In miscellany news… yesterday saw me at two most excellent Temescal area eateries. Hanging out with the ex has its advantages, and these include Bakesale Betty  and Bear Naked Burgers.

I’d peg the BN cheeseburger as the third best burger I’ve has in the past month (Oh why oh why didn’t I go for the Kobe at Social House?)… but it was the scone at Bakesale. Gods… words cannot do justice to the most perfect, fresh from the oven, apricot scone I’ve ever had.

Of course, its also the only fresh from the oven, apricot scone I’ve ever had, but that’s immaterial. You know when you eat something and just know its never going to be topped?

Yeah. That good.

Good enough that I almost wish I still lived in the neighborhood. Almost. But I prefer to not be shot at and car jacked on a semi-regular basis.
