Today was cool… not just because I got paid, which was a relief, but because after I got paid I had myself a solid dinner at a place I haven’t been to in years (Picante in Berkeley) and then I stumbled upon a Going Out of Business sale at a Hollywood Video.
I know, I know… I’ve been enjoying my new pay scale WAYYYYY too much. And at this rate I probably owe about a whole paycheck in taxes anyway since I’m a 1099 for the first time in my life. Yet I’ll cross that bridge in a week. Tonight its all about the $25 that got me:
- The Science of Sleep– Gondry’s romantic fantasy. (Haven’t seen it)
- The Aristocrats– which has boatloads of extras. (Seen it. But not the extras.)
- Memories of Murder– a fantastic crime movie from the director of The Host. (Guess.)
- Queen Emeraldas– an Anime that I was always meaning to rent and now can’t thanks to my privileged being revoked… or more to the point could, but buying it was cheaper. Its subject: Space Pirates! (If you’re not clear whether I’ve seen it or not, seek medical attention.)
Plus a brand new, in the shrink wrap copy of Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter for the 360. Which is one of three launch era titles I still want.
THAT GUY
I’ll take “End Of The DVD Era” for the win, Alex.
ALEX
You mean for 2000?
THAT GUY
No, Trebek. I mean for the win. FTW.
